First Pemberton Flea Market and other activities

Thanks to Carmen, Shirley and Gail, who spearheaded this event, the paperwork was done, insurance purchased and advertising put in place.  The event was declared a success with income exceeding expenses.  It helped to have the tables and coffee urn donated by Sabre Rentals and of course the sunshine after days of rain.  Certainly the turnout of vendors and shoppers shows the idea is good. Peggy reported:   Brought in 435.44     Less coffee:  ( 8.34) and Insurance (212.00) for a  Profit of $195.10.   Shirley, Jolene, Rolande, Liz and John were manning the management, coffee and PVS sales tables and other members had tables set up themselves.  

Once again the seniors in Pemberton were able to attend a special clinic for Flu Shots and as usual it was very well attended.  The health talk on Wednesday, Nov. 5 was an informal chat with Lynne Currie leading the conversation about winter health and safety .  We addressed mobility and walking poles - now available at London Drugs as well as diet and sleep disorders. 

The Whistler Diners Club was a musical and gastronomic success as we celebrated together with an Oktoberfest' theme.  Just a week later we welcomed a number of Whistler seniors to our Pot Luck at the Legion.  There were more dishes and choices than we could eat.

The first Sing along karaoke was well attended and they can't wait for the next one on Nov. 14.  Come on out and join in.

Fran has been very busy planning the December calendar and with so many activities having limited capacity it is very important to RSVP to her if you want to enjoy the lunches, dinners, and trips.   

The late Jim MacDonald and Marion Ayers last year at Drumkeeran.  Jim will be missed by us all as we attend Remembrance Day ceremonies on Tuesday.
